A few recent small pieces

Here are some recent finishes. I have been working on small pieces along with larger ones. The small pieces help me translate color and ideas quickly and if it is good then maybe increase the size and paint it much larger. I am an artist that easily just keeps doing some of the same things and that isn’t always beneficial as we all know — change is good. Last year there was a competition where I needed to paint a painting a day. I have done these challenges before but I always used watercolor, but I wanted to use oil paint this time. There was a mental block of painting fast with oils, I guess. I started and I kept going and I was doing it. I painted 31 paintings in 31 days - smaller ones, but some larger ones also. I kept painting one or more paintings a day for a couple of months. I ended up painting so awesome tiny paintings and it was so amazing to me that I actually could do it. I was totally surprised by some of them and starting seeing what I was drawn to more and more. I have been still painting small, not as intensely as last year but I’m still racking up the paintings. Can I just say - I love to paint! I love color! I love the sky! I love light! I love the beautiful world we live in! I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ! I love my family! and I am thankful for you, who find your way to my thoughts! Thank you for sharing in this journey of mine to adding more light and color to our lives.

Let me know what you think. I would love to here from you!
